FARE Network is recruiting anti-discrimination monitors for Euro 2012 football matches taking place in Poland and Ukraine. The monitors selected through the application process (final day to apply is April 2) will attend matches to watch for incidents of discrimination and to collaborate with the fans embassy teams to prevent and solve any such incidents. Monitors, who receive transportation, lodging and a ticket to the match they are assigned to, must have a good understanding of discriminatory symbols, words and attitudes in general and particularly in their countries of origin. The discriminatory or provoking language, gestures, banners and other behavior tracked and reported on by the monitors could be linked to racism, sexism, sexual orientation or the extreme right and neo-Nazism. FARE Network will appoint two monitors to each Euro 2012 match.
