The Policy Center for Roma and Minorities team took the stage twice during the 2012 Civil Society Gala, which took place on May 28 at the National Opera. The tenth edition of the Gala rewarded our efforts to promote social inclusion through alternative education, as well as the progress made by children from Ferentari, through two distinctions: the Dan Manoleli Excellence Award for the Development of Civil Society and the third place in the Learning, Education and Research category.
The Civil Society Gala is an annual competition that recognizes the best projects implemneted by non-governmental organizations, initiative groups, labor unions or individuals in Romania. 109 non-governmental and/or non-profit organizations entered 176 projects and programs into this year’s competition. The Policy Center for Roma and Minorities team is honored to have received the awards and congratulates the other winning projects and organizations. This year’s grand prize was awarded to the SMURD Foundation for the partnership between SMURD and Vodafone Romania entitled Partnership for Life – the Telemedicine Solution.
The ceremony, which can be watched in its entirety on the B1TV website, took place under the slogan: “For ten years, we have rewarded those who do not make promises, but do a lot!”
