Embassy of Netherlands, Romanian Football Federation and Policy Center for Roma and minorities and 14 children from a disadvantaged background joined in during an event meant to raise awareness about the need for fair-play and fighting against racism and violence prior the football match Romania – Netherlands.
The Dutch Ambasador, Matthijs van Bonzel and former Romanian National-team players, Miodrag Belodedici and Daniel Prodan played with the children. Children received also UEFA’s United Against Racism T-shirts and caps and we used RESPECT footballs for the playing time. They received some gifts from the Embassy and enjoyed being in the center of attention at the Embassy.
Other 14 children (mostly Roma) received tickets to the football game Romania Netherlands taking place in the same day on the National Arena (Bucharest).
Therefore 28 happy children together with their football coach. Romania lost 4 to 1 in a good game overall.
During the game (over 55.000 people attended) we also launched a video-clip we developed together with the Romanian Football Federation.
Images from the stadium and the video-clip can be seen herehttp://youtu.be/tBZgzHSUtYQ
